Notes

On 23 Aug 1915, Joseph enlisted in the Royal Canadian Regiment (No 477317) in Halifax Nova Scotia as Company Sergeant Major and was subsequently awarded a Distinguished Conduct Medal.
On the 14 Dec 1920 Joseph arrived at Liverpool having boarded at Portland Canada on the ship Canada, presumably for his marriage to Victoria on 3 Jan 1921.
On the 3 Feb 1921 Joseph returned to Canada, arriving at St John New Brunswick having boarded at Liverpool on the ship Metagama. His boarding card indicated that he originally arrived in Canada on 2nd Oct 1905.
On the 28 Jul 1922, Joseph arrived back at Southampton having boarded at Montreal on the ship Melita.
